One thing I love to do is decorate my house for each season or current holiday. In fact, the picture on the home page is my dining room decorated for Easter. I know that decorating can be expensive and time-consuming, so I start by using things I already have – like candles, tablecloths, table runners, napkins, napkin rings, ribbon, fabric, paper and other knick-knacks for my decorations and then purchase just a few items to fill in.

One trick I learned is to use craft paper (less than a dollar a sheet at most craft stores) as a decorating staple. For example, you can buy three sheets of the same or complementary colors and place them end on end as a table runner. Or place whole or half sheets under several candles as a centerpiece or cut the paper into variable-width strips and wrap them around candles and tie ribbon or twine around them to add seasonable color and texture. Each of these ideas is low cost and high impact. I would love to hear your ideas for craft paper as well decorator tips. Have fun and don’t forget to Celebrate Now!

I love the idea of using simple craft sheets to decorate a table. I’ve also seen using trays for glasses if serving wine or any drink. Maybe adding a craft sheet in a bright color would be an attractive addition. Thanks Pattie!

Love the ideas and the colors! I’m usually not one for decorating, but you remind me how easy it is and how beautiful it looks for me and my guests. Thank you for the inspiration!
